Antique Lion Table Construction
Rustic Baroque style, finish, and pegged mortise-and-tenon construction lend authenticity to this piece. Le Blancq designed and built the entire ensemble. Requiring nine months to create, this was a delight from start to finish. Leather was custom-dyed to look a century-old. White Oak timbers were milled 14-inches square in order to allow for hand-carving of the Lion-supports. Three, 16-inch wide, 4-inch thick walnut planks comprise the top. An elliptical x-brace connects the Lions. The custom banquette was designed and upholstered by our team, to fit the largest hide, so that no seams were evident on the seat.
