Wine Cellar

Subterranean Wine Cellar
Requested as an after-thought during house renovations, this 20′ room sits 12′ below the surface, thus ensuring a constant ground temperature of 36 degrees Fahrenheit. Floor and Ceiling vents ensure that air-flow is circulated, in the best traditions of root-cellar construction. Perfect for wine or food preservation, it requires nothing mechanical.

Stone Boathouse

Floating Stone Boathouse
We put our centuries of shipbuilding traditions to work on this one ! This 40-ton vessel has a stone veneer wall to lend the illusion of permanence, when in fact the anchors can be disconnected and the entire vessel floated away ! An ample 28′ x 32′ roof-deck, covered in IPEI, offers splendid views and allows for entertaining large crowds. Below, a Boat-port is sheltered with mahogany storage cabinets for incidentals, tackle, and furniture storage. ECO-FRIENDLY because no cribs or pilings mean no disturbance of the lake-bed. And soya-oil finishes are drinkable, ensuring no toxins enter the water.

Lion Table

Antique Lion Table Construction
Rustic Baroque style, finish, and pegged mortise-and-tenon construction lend authenticity to this piece. Le Blancq designed and built the entire ensemble. Requiring nine months to create, this was a delight from start to finish. Leather was custom-dyed to look a century-old. White Oak timbers were milled 14-inches square in order to allow for hand-carving of the Lion-supports. Three, 16-inch wide, 4-inch thick walnut planks comprise the top. An elliptical x-brace connects the Lions. The custom banquette was designed and upholstered by our team, to fit the largest hide, so that no seams were evident on the seat.

Elizabeth Cottage

Gothic Door - Elizabeth Cottage, Kingston, Ontario
One of the most important Heritage Buildings in the realm, and pre-dating Victoria’s Reign. A replica front door had been created of plywood’s, which quickly rotted away. Le Blancq was commissioned to reproduce the original front door in solid clear pine and authentic period mouldings. Over the course of sixty years, Le Blancq Design Group has also effected other repairs on this venerable example of Regency Architecture in Upper Canada.

1884 Restoration

1884 Home Restoration
Located in beautiful downtown Kingston, Ontario, this Heritage designated project entailed a complete overhaul from top to bottom. A considerable amount of wasted attic-space was utilised to create a loft bedroom/study/office area. Glass blocks add a retro-look and allow natural light while still affording privacy. All woodwork including stairs are new, manufactured by Le Blancq, and custom-matched to the period profiles.

Chris Craft Restoration

1968 Chris Craft Cavalier Restoration

Stripped of all rot when she was 40 years old, this vessel was still in ship-shape! As well as a thorough refit, Le Blancq redesigned and rebuilt her stern to afford easier access to the swim platform. The interior was typically cramped and inefficient too. Le Blancq created a more spacious interior that could seat 8 comfortably, in the style of our popular day-trip Picnic Cruiser.
